Night View Wing I

Description

Night View Wing I and its monochrome mate Night View Wing II are two of Yvonne Jacquette's most successful paired editions from Stewart & Stewart. While working on the editions at our Wing Lake Road studio, the artist told of a harrowing plane flight, ending in a prolonged holding pattern circling over New York City. With her assigned window seat and with drawing materials in her carry-on, she sketched what she saw through the cabin window. Because her view changed continually as she drew, the final sketch was an amalgam of views, not a single view of New York City from the sky.

Night View Wing I was hand printed in fifteen colors at the Wing Lake Studio in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, U.S.A. Each of the fifteen progressive color separations was drawn by the artist, then screenprinted using an indirect sensigraphic stencil system. This is a rare print screenprinted in 15 opaque colors on premium Rives BFK paper (archival, 100% cotton, acid-free) made in France, in a limited edition of 48 impressions. As with all Stewart & Stewart publications, each impression is signed and numbered by the artist and includes complete print documentation also signed by the artist.
