Very fine and rich impression, printed evenly with every detail present, trimmed to the borderline and with ample margin below, otherwise in a fresh state of conservation.
This print is one of the earliest representations of the Spring of Geronstère near Spa. Van Everdingen had visited the spring and had made several drawings of it, from which two sheets survived that are nowadays in London (British Museum: inv. nos. 18188.8.131.52 and 18184.108.40.206).
Dr. Erik Hinterding (Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam) will thoroughly discuss this print and the other from the same series in the catalogue that will be published on occasion of the Allart van Everdingen exhibition, which will take place in Alkmaar in 2021.
