Mounted to heavy paper for support.
Note: Diepenbeck was a well-regarded painter in Antwerp, who worked in the Rubens studio. He was given several projects by Rubens including the poster boards for the tapestries The Adoration of the Eucharist, 1626-1627. In 1636 Diepenbeck was registered as a burgher in Antwerp and in 1638 he becomes a Free Master in the Antwerp Saint Luke Guild later becoming the Dean of the Guild. His creativity was strongly influenced by Rubens. The present work is part of a Passion cycle.
